Another Sierras Trip In The Bag
Well another week of camping in the Sierras is in the bag. We all had a super great time, despite the mosquitoes and sunburns. Claire and Chloe were definitely in their element up there. Never a dull moment, always somewhere to play and something to do. Now that we are home, they are bouncing off the walls. The T.V. just isn't as great as rivers, rocks and dirt.
Highlight of the trip for me was getting to ride the killer mountain biking trails up there. Did the Downieville downhill twice. Even managed to drag Johnny along on one of the rides. I think he dug it.
Already looking forward to next summer.
Old
My whole life I have been telling my friends to kill me if I ever turned 30. In half hour I'm going to be 31 ... someone isn't living up to their end of the bargain here. So not cool ... so not cool.
Lions and Tigers and Bears
Okay really there was one tiger and one bear and no lions, but the zoo was still a good time today. Claire and Chloe loved walking from animal to animal shouting "wook wook!" which translates into "look look!" for you grown ups.
Chloe says her favorite animal was the wolf and Claire is going with the bear. I'm not sure what Mommy's favorite is, but I always have to go with the giant tortoises because they are the same ones that were there when I was a kid.
The best thing about the Fresno zoo is that it isn't very big so you can see most everything in about an hour, which is exactly how long the girls are able to hang without having any meltdowns.
Chloe's First Hair Cut
Chloe got her first haircut today. It was just a little trim and she took it like a champ.
Daddy got a trim too
Chloebug
This girl's cuteness is like kryptonite to her Daddy!
Clairebear
Claire is mesmerized by the brain-melting programming on Noggin'.
Hackin' It Up
Yesterday I played in a golf tournament for work. Our foursome won the coveted crappiest team (AKA 'Hackers') award. I must say, I'm quite proud. I wish I could blame the horrible play on the fact that it was pouring rain, but I'm pretty sure it has more to do with the fact that I just really suck at golf.
What a golf swing shouldn't look like:
Queens of the Mountain
Jeff and I hit up the Squaw Leap loop yesterday for the first ride of the season. As it turned out, we weren't in the same condition that we were in at the end of last summer. We may as well have been wearing skirts for a good portion of the hike-a-bike climb.
It didn't help when we passed a hiker who told us there was a rattle snake in the middle of the trail not far up ahead. We never did see that snake, even after tip toeing along for a good quarter mile.
Claire & Chloe Turn Two
We had a few friends and family over for the girl's birthday on the 18th. As usual they made out like bandits. Everyone always spoils them and they love it!
One of the highlights was all the kids getting to beat the living daylights out of a Dora the Explorer Pinata. I'm not really sure what message that sends to Claire and Chloe about their favorite cartoon character, but it was fun and they had no issues chomping down on the candy.
At some point later in the evening Johnny and I had a 'You Got Served' style dance off. I'm pretty sure I lost ... by a lot.
Jelly Beans Are The New M&Ms
The past week has been a blur of car accidents, hospitals, work and who knows what else, but Jamie tells me there was a holiday in there somewhere.
Claire and Chloe spent Easter Sunday playing in the front yard, searching for jelly bean filled plastic eggs and learning how to open them up.
Thanks Ron and Linda for snapping theese photos for me!
